HyGear, a supplier of industrial gases through on-site generation and recovery technology announces that it has been awarded a long-term hydrogen supply contract by a glass producer located in Belgium.

The company produces, processes and distributes flat glass for several industries. In the production process, a combination of high purity hydrogen and nitrogen gases are used to provide a protective atmosphere in the tin bath to assure high quality end products.

According to the contract, HyGear will supply high purity hydrogen through its technology, combined with trailer supply from HyGear鈥檚 Hydrogen Plant in Arnhem, The Netherlands for peak demands. This method provides an optimal utilization of capital equipment, offering the lowest possible costs and the highest possible reliability of supply.

鈥淭he new contract in Belgium is part of HyGear鈥檚 ongoing expansion of its Gas-as-a-Service offering in Europe. By adding new GaaS customers to the existing customer base, a network of hydrogen using industries is established, allowing the company to leverage its investment in production and transportation assets over a broader customer base鈥, said Niels Lanser, HyGear鈥檚 Chief Commercial Officer.

The installation is expected to be commissioned late 2019.
