Saint-Gobain has signed a 5-year renewable electricity supply agreement (Power Purchase Agreement or PPA) in Romania with OMV PETROM SA.

This contract covers the purchase of green electricity from wind and photovoltaic sources provided by energy supplier OMV PETROM SA and will start in January 2026.

OMV PETROM SA will provide around 800 GWh of green electricity for a period of 5 years. This contract, combined with a photovoltaic park currently in the final stage of development at the Călărași glass plant, will cover 100% of Saint-Gobain’s electricity needs in Romania.

Saint-Gobain Romania has 14 industrial sites in the country, covering glass, insulation, plasterboard, and construction chemicals activities.

This contract is the second PPA signed by Saint-Gobain in Romania and will contribute to Saint-Gobain's strategy of reducing its carbon footprint in the country in line with the Group’s net zero carbon emissions goal by 2050.
