VETECO will create numerous business opportunities in a crucial sector for enhancing the energy efficiency of buildings.

This is an essential requirement that has recently been in the news again with the publication of the European directive on this subject. The fair will be configured as an outstanding commercial tool in which windows, facades and solar protection will be the main protagonists. It will also serve to demonstrate the importance of these elements in achieving the goals of zero-emission buildings planned for 2030 and 2050.

VETECO, which will be held as part of the International Construction Week from 5 to 8 November at IFEMA MADRID, will demonstrate that windows, façades, solar protection and the building envelope constitute a strategic sector that brings together important synergies and adds value to the entire construction sector. In this context, the Fair will become an essential commercial and business tool to enhance the visibility of products and services, as well as to boost the marketing and national and international distribution of the sector.

VETECO provides a direct and personal channel for suppliers and clients to collaborate on new projects. Furthermore, the fair will offer insights, innovations and solutions for professionals working in the window, façade and solar protection sectors, as well as for the wider construction industry, which will be represented by CONSTRUTEC, PISCIMAD and SMART DOORS.

VETECO will comprise two sectors. VETECO GLASS will be an exhibition space for the entire glass industry and value chain. VETECO SOLAR will be a specific space for the solar protection and control sector. Moreover, the platform will provide development-focused content that promotes digitalisation, innovation, sustainability, knowledge and advanced solutions for the entire building cycle.

Energy Efficiency

At VETECO, we are committed to exploring the nexus between sustainability and energy efficiency. We believe that these concepts will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our industry in the coming years. On 8 May, Directive (EU) 2024/1275 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union. This will set out the national renovation plans and the new energy certification system for buildings. The new directive, which will be implemented gradually from 2026, has been evaluated positively by ASEFAVE, the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Light Façades and Windows.

The key concept is the zero-emission building, which is defined as a structure with very low energy demand, zero carbon emissions from on-site fossil fuels and zero or very low operational greenhouse gas emissions. By 2030, all new buildings must be zero-emission buildings, and existing buildings must be transformed into zero-emission buildings by 2050 at the latest.
